Daniel 8:23-25

²³ “In the latter period of their ^[a]rule,
When the transgressors have ^[b]run their course,
A king will arise,
^[c]Insolent and skilled in ^[d]intrigue.
²⁴ “His power will be mighty, but not by his own power,
And he will ^[e](A)destroy to an extraordinary degree
And prosper and perform his will;
He will ^[f]destroy mighty men and ^[g]the holy people.
²⁵ “And through his shrewdness
He will cause deceit to succeed by his ^[h]influence;
And he will magnify himself in his heart,
And he will ^[i]destroy many while they are ^[j]at ease.
He will even ^[k](B)oppose the Prince of princes,
But he will be broken ^(C)without ^[l]human agency.
